The Last Few... I've been keeping myself busy with the always exciting work then sleep, then work, then sleep again routine. Occasionally I will watch a South Park ep. Fun huh? Today was my (kind of) day off since I only had to work at ESPN, but did I use my time wisely?......well I slept some more, made a mix and now Im talking to you fools. So, Im undecided. OH and my roommate lost the remote to the digital cable box. Now this really sucks. To demonstrate, the stations I watch the most are ESPN News and HBO. One of them is channel 405, the other is 701. Now imagine only being able to go up and down one channel at a time and you will hopefully feel a small part of my pain. I looked all over and couldn't find the damn thing. Sucks I tell you! Anyway, back to this CD mix thing. I told my friend Allison that I would make her a mix of the music that I like. This was surprisingly difficult. Let us once again imagine together. Imagine condensing your entire CD collection down to one CD, while at the same time giving it that "flow" that all great mixes need. Not easy. I also tried to skew more towards what I think she would like (obviously). This meant leaving out what I consider to be the harder rockin songs. Nevertheless, Im groovin to the mix right now and I feel this is an accurate representation of my current tastes. Here's the final track list: The "Death of An Apprentice" Mix 1. Allison - The Pixies 2. Total Eclipse of the Heart - Straight Outta Junior High 3. A Praise Chorus - Jimmy Eat World 4. Happy Kid - Nada Surf 5. Let Me Go - Cake 6. Waiting - Green Day 7. Restart - Ozma 8. Disarm - The Smashing Pumpkins 9. Album of the Year - Good Life 10. Nothin'severgonnastandinmyway(again) - Wilco 11. Across the Sea - Weezer 12. Rollerskate Skinny - Old 97's 13. Baby You're A Rich Man - The Beatles 14. The Man In Me (aka the Big Lebowski song) - Bob Dylan 15. High and Dry - Radiohead 16. Mexican Wine - Fountains of Wayne 17. Army - Ben Folds Five 18. Amsterdam - Coldplay Special thanks to PLU for giving me the Beatles song in his last mix, thanks to RJP for turning me on to the Good Life and thanks to me for having such an awesome taste in music. Yeah! Even more thanks should also go out to Flex and Lou for those good ol fashioned phone conversations.
